Enze Postecoglou has helped Rodrigo Bentancur make a strong comeback.
Bentancur was injured during a match against Leicester City in February. He suffered a major cruciate ligament tear and was expected to be out for a long time. It was widely expected that he would struggle to return early in the season and wouldn’t return until at least mid-November. However, Bentancur defied expectations and returned to the field in the 10th round of the Premier League (PL) against Crystal Palace late last month.레모나토토
Bentancur first recalled the game in which he was injured: “At the time, I felt a crack. It was really painful, and I couldn’t walk for a few minutes. I remember going to the doctor after the game and asking him to be honest with me. I was told that it was most likely an anterior cruciate ligament injury, so I realized that it would take a long time to recover. I then prepared for my recovery. I was with my girlfriend, and I went out of the room and cried,” he said.
“My family was there from the beginning, and the ones who weren’t there were in Uruguay. I tried to maximize the time I spent with them. I think my time with them helped me recover,” he says, noting that family time was important.
Bentancur had his work cut out for him. “I didn’t have any serious problems or inflammation for eight months,” he says. Whenever I changed direction or increased the weight, my knee responded well. I also trained a lot. For the last three months, I’ve been training Monday through Saturday with the club and on my own. I did as much as I could to get back to where I was before. I trained 10 to 11 times a week, about 120 sessions in the last three months,” he said.
Coach Postecoglu’s advice also helped. “He asked me about my status, my condition, my injuries. He gave me trust from the first moment we met. He made me feel comfortable and helped me get back to a perfectly healthy form. He told me not to rush and to try to get back to the same level I was at before I left,” he said of Postecoglou’s advice.
