NC Dinos left-handed pitcher Koo Chang-mo has been removed from the first team due to an arm injury.
The NC Dinos removed Koo, along with right-handed pitcher Kim Si-hoon and infielder Yoon Hyung-jun, from the first-team roster on Monday ahead of their game against the Changwon KIA Tigers.
Koo Chang-mo had pitched 2⅓ innings in relief against KIA the previous day, striking out one and walking none, and then voluntarily left the mound after complaining of arm pain. He was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with a fractured ulna in his left forearm.
He will need surgery and is likely out for the season. The ulna is the lower of the two bones that make up the forearm. Koo Chang-mo was diagnosed with a left forearm muscle injury and ulnar fatigue fracture in June and underwent rehabilitation before making his comeback in the Futures (2nd Division) League on June 19.
He was rushed back to play in the Hangzhou Asian Games, but the national baseball team deemed him unfit and selected left-handed pitcher Kim Young-kyu from the same team as a replacement.메이저사이트
After being dropped from the roster, Koo re-injured the same area in just his second first-team start, leaving him unable to play in the postseason, let alone the national team.
A dominant pitcher once on the mound, Koo has struggled to perform at his best due to frequent injuries.
He has yet to complete a regulation inning since his professional debut and has a career record of 174 games, 47 wins, 37 losses, 4 holds, 680 1/3 innings, 681 strikeouts, and a 3.68 ERA.
