Reporter Jinhyeok Ban reveals why he left Liverpool.

The Saudi Arabian league is a popular destination for superstars to finish their careers. The standard is better than before and the paychecks are huge.

Al Nasr started with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo. He had a superstar effect and opened the eyes of other players.

As if in competition, clubs in the Saudi Arabian league rolled up their sleeves and started building their superstar squads.

Al Ittahad led the way. They signed Karim Benzema, a former Real Madrid goalkeeper.

More recently, Neymar joined the ranks of oil money when he left Paris Saint-Germain for Al-Hilal after parting ways with Lee Kang-in.

The money power of the Saudi league has even shaken up the English Premier League (EPL). Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, N’Golo Kante, Fabinho, and more.

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is also on the radar of the Saudi league. Steven Gerrard’s Al Ittifaq have made a move.

Henderson succeeded Gerrard as Liverpool’s captain and was a favorite, so the move came as a shock.

But Al Ittifa was sincere, and Henderson left Liverpool to join the Saudi Arabian league.

Henderson signed a three-year contract with Al Ittifaq. The financial treatment was a bonus. He reportedly receives four times the salary he was earning at Liverpool.

“Al Ittifaq contacted Liverpool about a possible transfer, and the response was not a no,” Henderson said.

“I felt like Liverpool had changed their mind about wanting me. I knew there would be a parting of the ways, but I didn’t think it would be now,” he lamented.

“If even one person at Liverpool had said, ‘I want to stay,’ I wouldn’t have negotiated with Al Ittifaq. I didn’t get the feeling that they wanted me to stay.”

Heading to the Saudi Arabian League, Henderson was looking forward to working with Gerrard.바카라사이트

“It’s a completely different league, a different culture, with Gerrard. I know he really wanted me. In a few years, it will be one of the best leagues in the world,” he said, adding that he would enjoy the new challenge.
