Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar is headed to Saudi Arabia.
“Neymar is moving to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal,” France’s RMC Sport said on Thursday (April 14), adding that the transfer fee will be €90 million plus bonuses.
“Medical tests will take place,” the source said, adding that “the deal has been finalized.”
Al Hilal held onto Neymar with astronomical financial terms. According to another French outlet, Le Quip, Al Hilal offered Neymar €160 million over two years.
Earlier, Al Hilal had rejected a €300 million transfer fee and €700 million salary for teammate Mbappe. Some of the money they would have spent on Mbappe could be used to sign Neymar, and they also tried to sign Lionel Messi before Mbappe.
There were rumors that Al-Hilal would offer Neymar a loan to Barcelona for a year after joining the club to convince him to stay in Europe, but transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano dismissed the possibility of a loan.
Paris Saint-Germain have labeled Neymar as a non-starter and have been in talks with Al-Hilal. “Neymar is no longer part of the club’s or coach Luis Enrique’s plans,” a Paris Saint-Germain source told AFP.
Paris Saint-Germain had already prepared for Neymar’s absence by signing Goncalo Camus and Ousmane Dembele. Even Mbappe, who had been ruled out for the season after a falling out with the club, has resolved his differences and returned to training.
Al Hilal have made a number of big-name European signings this summer. Former English Premier League stars Nabil Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly, as well as Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, one of the best midfielders in Italian Serie A, have donned the shirt. The club has spent €178 million on players so far in this summer’s transfer window.
Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona for €222 million ($298 million) in 2017, breaking the record for the highest transfer fee and salary in history at the time.
He was linked with a move away from the club with one year left on his contract in 2021, but in March of that year, he signed a new deal that extended his contract until 2025.
Neymar has scored 118 goals and provided 77 assists in 173 appearances over the past six seasons in a Paris Saint-Germain shirt. However, he has been plagued by injuries each season and has never played more than 30 games in a season. His 22 games in 2021-22 are his most in a single season.온라인카지노
Neymar has won the league title with Paris Saint-Germain in five of his six seasons, with the exception of 2020-21.
